Who is Zanib Mian?
Zanib Mian grew up in London and still lives there today. She was a Science teacher for a few years after studying Molecular Cell Biology at university but, right from when she was a little girl, her passion was writing stories and poetry. Zanib founded Sweet Apple Books in 2009, with a vision to create diverse children's books - something larger publishers weren't focusing on at the time. She has released many Islamic books with her independent publisher Muslim Children's Books, including the popular 'Migo & Ali' titles.

Zanib's mainstream middle-grade book, Planet Omar was first released under the title 'The Muslims', and won the Little Rebels Award 2018, as well as being shortlisted for the UKLA Award and nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal.

Zanib founded Quirky Muslims, because she felt that the gifts we give to loved ones could be more special and obviously, more quirky! Although Quirky Muslims caters to a Islamic lifestyle, the personalised gifts and love books can certainly be enjoyed by a wider audience.
